Hamilton Book Tag (GUOTS #3)

HAMILTON BOOK TAG

This is day three of Get Up Offa That Slump: blogging extravaganza!

TODAY’S CHALLENGE: Do a book tag!

Hamilton is basically my favorite thing right now, so obviously I chose to do the Hamilton Book Tag for today!

If you don’t know what Hamilton is…. well let’s just say it’s a broadway hip-hop musical about Alexander Hamilton, one of the founding fathers of America. It’s perf. <3 It makes my history major heart so, so happy. Also, the casting is wonderful. Check it out here or on Spotify!

Let’s begin!

1. The Room Where It Happens: Book world you would put yourself in

The Wizarding World! I would always love to go to Hogwarts, but probably not around the time of Harry Potter though. (although, after just reading the Magicians, maybe that’s not a good idea). The Shadowhunter world would be interesting too, but dangerous.

2. The Schuyler Sisters: Underrated Female Character

Taylor from Second Chance Summer! She is so strong, even in the midst of such grief. I adore her and this story so much.

3. My Shot: A character that goes after what they want and doesn’t let anything stop them

Lydia from The Serpent King! Her motivation and determination are so inspiring to me. A fashion blogger from rural Tennessee with New York City dreams, I cannot get enough of her <3

4. Stay Alive: A character you wish was still alive [warn for spoilers!]

Skipping this one, too easy for spoilers even if I warn for them.

5. Burn: The most heartbreaking end to a relationship you’ve ever read [warn for spoilers!]

(THE MAGICIANS SPOILER!!!!!!!)

–

Q and Alice from The Magicians. Just, so so so so sad.

6. You’ll Be Back: Sassiest villain

Lord Ballister Blackheart from Nimona. He is so funny when he has to deal with the trouble Nimona gets up to!

7. The Reynolds Pamphlet – A book with a twist that you didn’t see coming [warn for spoilers!]

Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon! I knew there would be a twist, but I didn’t see this coming!

8. Non-stop: A series you marathoned

Throne of Glass, this was basically all I read during the second half of fall quarter this year! SO GOOD, as most of you already are aware haha

9. Satisfied: Favorite book with multiple POVs

I’ll Give You the Sun by Jandy Nelson. It’s told from two POVs, Noah and Jude, who are twins, during the ages 13 and 16. Such a perfect story, I love it.

10. Who Lives, Who Dies, Who Tells Your Story: A book/series you feel like will be remembered throughout history

The Lord of the Rings; I literally took a class on Tolkien so I think this is definitely true! It was groundbreaking for it’s genre. I can’t imagine anyone forgetting Tolkien’s epic any time soon!

BONUS QUESTIONS:

1. Helpless: A relationship you were pulling for from the very start

–  Amy and Roger from Amy and Roger’s Epic Detour

2. Ten Duel Commandments: Favorite fight scene

The last scene in Queen of Shadows omg

3. Say No To This: Guilty pleasure read

The Selection Series

4. What Comes Next: A series you wish had more books

basically all of rainbow rowell // sarah dessen

5. Right Hand Man – Favorite BROTP

Chaol and Dorian! they’re so sweet.

6. What’d I Miss: A book or series you were late to reading

Harry Potter (only the first few as a kid, read the whole series in middle school)
