OTP book tag

OTP Book Tag.jpg

Happy Valentine’s Day, everyone! ♥

Man, do I love myself a good romance. In the spirit of Valentine’s Day I am going to do the OTP Book Tag!

I was tagged by the lovely Carlisa, check out her tag here!

  • OTP: One True Pairing, aka your favorite couple…whether it’s happened yet or you’re just wishing/hoping/praying that it will someday happen.
  • Shipping: This is basically the wishing/hoping/praying part of the process…when you just really want two people to finally get together.

SO, let’s get started…

page-break-1

an unpopular otp that you ship

71716371

Will and Tessa from The Infernal Devices: okay, so maybe this isn’t unpopular necessarily, but the debate about who is better for Tess, between Will and Jem, is often one that people feel very strongly about in opposite directions. I prefer Will and Tessa, but honestly adore how it plays out in the books. It’s perf.

page-break-1

an otp that you didn’t ship at first but now you do

16096824

Feyre and Rhysand from A Court of Thorns and Roses: I have a lot of opinions about the love interests in this series. Because I totally love Tamlin. But Rhys… he’s just so mysterious and surprisingly caring, and I can’t wait to see where the series goes.

page-break-1

your most hated otp

6931356

Bianca and Wesley in The DUFF: I really did not like this book, did not like this couple, had no interest in watching the movie. Nope, nope, nope.

page-break-1

an otp that took waaaay too long to get together

20820994

Noah and Brian from I’ll Give You the Sun: Just, wow. Love these two together, and the process it took to get there was agonizing!

page-break-1

your favorite non-canon otp

23734628

Agatha and Simon from Carry On: So the thing is, I rarely ship outside of the canon. If I am absolutely forced to choose a non-canon ship that I can get behind, it would probably be Simon and Agatha from Carry On. Though, for the record, I am 100% a fan of Simon x Baz.

page-break-1

your favorite bro-tp

Throne of Glass 2

Dorian and Chaol from the Throne of Glass series: They are just such a perfect pair. I love their friendship SO so much.

page-break-1

an otp you adored in the books but not as much in the adaptation

136251

Harry and Ginny from Harry Potter: I completely agree with Carlisa, here. I loved them in the books, but it was hard to get fully behind it in the movies. It might have been better if they gave Ginny a good character at all in the movies, but instead she is so bland.

page-break-1

an otp that no matter how hard you try, you just can’t ship it

23168945

Lennie and Toby from The Sky is Everywhere: okay so how am I ever supposed to be a fan of a sister hooking up with her sister boyfriend after she dies, even if they are both grieving and missing her? I just couldn’t love it.

page-break-1

your all-time favorite otp

7664334

Amy and Roger from Amy and Roger’s Epic Detour: I adore these two, especially together. Roger is just the best, and he and Amy were so so so so cute. I love their story, would love to see more of their relationship. They are perfect.

Ohh, I agree with all of these (well, for the books I read, haha!) I love Amy & Roger, Noah and Brian, and The DUFF was kind of a NO, for me, too. I really really want to read The Sky is Everywhere! 😀

Yes, Amy and Roger FOREVER. <3 Same with Noah and Brian!! I'm glad I'm not the only one who didn't like the DUFF. The whole concept was frustrating to me in general! The Sky is Everywhere was one I really enjoyed, though can't really compare to I'll Give You the Sun!

Oh man, I haven’t read most of these books (shame on me, I know!) but I agree with the ones I know! I’m so glad to see Rhysand and Feyre on that list … I was all over Tamlin at first but as soon as Rhys entered the picture I couldn’t help but be fascinated by him – I JUST ADORE THIS GUY!!! ♥ Can’t wait to find out more about him! 😀

Thanks for tagging me, Gabi! I love doing tags so I’ll definitely try to get to it asap!

YEAH SAAAME! Like Tamlin is lovely, and I would be fine with that pairing, but I am totally fascinated by Rhys too. <3 Same, if only it was may already!! Yay I hope you do this one! 🙂

  3. The TeeKay Take says

I totally agree that Harry and Gini lacked the romance in the films! They really had sweet potential for writers to work up, but instead they chose to focus on Harry and Voldemort more… Now, That’s one sinking ship here😂

Yeah, definitely. Lots of wasted potential! hahah very true.

I am leaning more and more towards this every single daaaay. I really love how mysterious and interesting Rhys is and ugh just love him. I just want it to be may already! The day her book comes out she’ll be in Seattle, though, so I am PUMPED. 😀

Came back from Disneyland to my hold for THE SUNBE Came back from Disneyland to my hold for THE SUNBEARER TRIALS by @aidenschmaiden in my mailbox at the library 🥳🤩 I’m so excited to dive in. “Welcome to The Sunbearer Trials, where teen semidioses compete in a series of challenges with the highest of stakes, in this electric new Mexican-inspired fantasy from Aiden Thomas, the New York Times bestselling author of Cemetery Boys.

"Only the most powerful and honorable semidioses get chosen. I'm just a Jade. I'm not a real hero."

As each new decade begins, the sun's power must be replenished so that Sol can keep traveling along the sky and keep the evil Obsidian gods at bay. Ten semidioses between the ages of thirteen and eighteen are selected by Sol themself as the most worthy to compete in the Sunbearer Trials. The winner carries light and life to all the temples of Reino del Sol, but the loser has the greatest honor of all - they will be sacrificed to Sol, their body forming the new Sun Stones that will protect the people of Reino del Sol for the next ten years.

Teo, a 17-year-old Jade semidios and the trans son of Quetzal, goddess of birds, has never worried about the Trials... or rather, he's only worried for others. His best friend Niya - daughter of Tierra, the god of earth - is one of the strongest heroes of their generation and is much too likely to be chosen this year. He also can't help but worry (reluctantly, and under protest) for Aurelio, a powerful Gold semidios and Teo's friend-turned-rival who is a shoo-in for the Trials. Teo wouldn't mind taking Aurelio down a notch or two, but a one-in-ten chance of death is a bit too close for Teo's taste.

But then, for the first time in over a century, Sol chooses a semidios who isn't a Gold. In fact, they choose two: Xio, the 13-year-old child of Mala Suerte, god of bad luck, and... Teo. Now they must compete in five mysterious trials, against opponents who are both more powerful and better trained, for fame, glory, and their own survival.”
