Top Ten Tuesday: Recent five star reads!

Wow, so sorry for the radio silence these past few weeks! Winter was pretty toxic for me this year, and especially with finals I just totally shut off my book community and blogging and everything! Now that I’ve had spring break to recover and recharge, I am so ready to be back posting (fairly) regularly!

So, how better to start than with a Top Ten Tuesday?!

page-break-1

This week’s Top Ten Tuesday topic is:ย 10 Of My Most Recent 5 Star Reads!

And honestly, I haven’t been blown away by books lately! I’ve had a TON of 4 star, really enjoyable reads, but VERY few 5 star reads! Even extending “recent” to cover this school year, I’ve read less than 10 that have received five stars, so here is a Top 7 I guess?

  1. Lady Midnight! LADY MIDNIGHT.
    • Guys, I can’t even explain to you how wonderful this one was. (well, I mean I willย try in my upcoming review but it will be HARD). Absolutely adored this book, and Julian, and Emma, and just all of it.
  2. Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe.
    • Also will have to attempt to explain why I loved this book to you in an upcoming review. It was flawless (probably not true but still loved it soย so much).
  3. The Serpent King.
    • This one, my friends, is my favorite book of the year. I’ll tell you why here.
  4. Winter.
    • This was an amazing wrap up to an amazing series. I have a hard time separating the different books in my mind, but the conclusion was amazing and action packed and wonderful. I probably won’t review it but I loved it.
  5. Queen of Shadows / Crown of Midnight.
    • I powered through these four books last fall, and I just loved them! Crown of Midnight was the most amazing sequel I have read in a LONG time, and the ending of Queen of Shadows was fantastic!
  6. Uprooted.
    • I totally fell in love with this standalone fantasy, it totally has everything I look for in a story!
  7. A Darker Shade of Magic.
    • holy shit can Victoria write. She is AMAZING, and this story was so well crafted.

So those were some of the best books I have read in the recent past, what have been some of your favorite 5-star reads lately? Did you do a TTT this week? Link me below!

I adore Aristotle and Dante, so I’m incredibly happy to see it on your list! I also have Winter on my list. I’ve been seeing such great reviews on The Serpent King so I’ve been thinking of picking it up. I may bump it up the priority list after seeing it on here though.

    Great list!

Me too! I can’t believe it took me so long to read Ari and Dante, it was so wonderful. Yay Winter, I loved how she wrapped up the series. and that makes me so happy, I would HIGHLY recommend bumping up The Serpent King. ๐Ÿ™‚

Haha, I had to go all the way back to September 2015 for ten! Out of your list, I read Crown of Midnight (which I gave 4 stars and surprisingly, I liked Throne of Glass more than that one..?) and Winter (which I gave 4.5. Cress remains my favorite!). However, ADSOM and Uprooted are both on my TBR. I hope 2016 is full of more 5-stars!

Oh wow, haha. I’m surprised that you rated Throne of Glass higher than Crown of Midnight! They’re both great though haha. ๐Ÿ™‚ I find it hard to choose a favorite in TLC but I could see both Cress and Winter being at the top for me. YAY ADSOM AND UPROOTED! I adored them (ovbs lol) I hope you do too!!
Yes, more five stars for both of us I hope! <3

THE SERPENT KING IS ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL. It’s currently the best book I’ve read this year also. I mean- it’s just amazing. Enough said ๐Ÿ˜›
